I’m looking for my Great-Grandmother’s family who lived in or around Kolobrzeg at least until the 1960s. My Great-Grandma’s name was Mary Baranski, she had 1 brother and 5 sisters, though we only know the names of two, Hania and Anna. Her father’s name was Paul, we don’t know her mother’s first name, but her maiden name was Pietrona and she had a brother named Wojciech who was born around 1856. Wojiech married Anna Trestka and they had at least 3 children, Karol, Teofil, and Leokadya all of whom immigrated to the US before 1920. Paul was an engineer who built bridges and his wife ran the farm.
Mary and her cousins Karol Pietrona and Andrei Baranski immigrated to the US in about 1913-1914, her father sent them to “save” a member from each part of the family.
I have some pictures from my 2x Great grandma’s funeral, and with the help of Reddit, I was able to identify the church in one of them as the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kołobrzeg (also known as Small Church by the River), so that may be where some of their records are held.
I am trying to help a friend find anything at all about his ancestors or at least where they lived. ...Quest Details
