My Grandmother, Elsa Beer was born on March 17, 1904 in Zdunskawola, Poland. Her family name is ometimes spelled “Behr” on various documents. It appears she was baptized in a Lutheran Church in her birthtown on March 30, 1904.
Elsa’s spouse was a coal miner named Oskar Manske from Lodz, Russia, which later became Poland. He was born June 13, 1899 and also appears to have been batpized in a Lutheran church in Lodz. Next to his baptism information is a notation that the baptism took place in Thinihalis (approximate spelling)in Lodz.
Elsa and Oskar appear to have left Poland for Buer-Resse in North Rhineland Westfalen, Germany prior to their marriage in Buer -Resse on December 24, 1924
I am particularly interested in Elsa’s parent’s names and their occupations and birthplaces. If information about Oskar’s forebears is available, I would appreciate that, as well.
