My grandfather, Seamon Danziger (1864-1940), came to the U.S. at the age of 14 to work with his uncle, Max Danziger (1837-1905) in New York City. Seamon was the youngest of at least seven children of Julius Danziger and his wife, Rosalie (nee Hollander). Julius was one of 10 children of Wolff Danziger (1804-1891) and his wife, Bertha (nee Gotthilf). Wolf was the son of Moses Danziger (b1767) of Lippink and his wife Golda (nee Fabian).. The family was Jewish. I cannot find much information about Julius, but there are several Julius Danzigers in historical sources. The family is listed in the Torun city directory of 1908. My father, Jerome (perhaps originally Wolfgang or Wolf) was born in Torun in 1897 as his parents visited the family. I would like to find census information, vital stats for Julius and Rosalie, birth and death dates and what kind of merchants they were (what was the family business in Torun). Other members of the family moved to Breslau (Wroclaw), but neither of the Julius Danzigers in the Breslau directories match my family. I have read that the Jewish cemetery records for Torun exist even though the cemetery itself was destroyed.
