I believe my grandfather was born in Minsk Mazowiecki around the year 1870 and married my grandmother Eugenia nee Parczewska born April 1882. I have since found that my grandmother died in Warsaw in May,1952. I have been in contact with the Polish Government Archive area dealing with births, marriage and death records. I have also learned that she is buried at Powązki Military Cemetery in Warsaw. My grandparents had 2 sons Boghdan and Janusz. Janusz, my father was born in Warsaw on th 5th March, 1920. My father Janusz was christened in at Najswietszego Zabawiciela Church in Warsaw in 1924. My grandfather was a choir master at the Najswietszego Zabawiciela Church in Warsaw and a music teacher at the Warsaw Conservatorium of Music up to the time of Germany’s occupation of Poland. He was arrested by the Gestapo shortly after the German invasion, never to be seen again. My fathers older brother Boghdan, was arrested by the Gestapo about 1940/41 and executed by firing squad. My father was taken by the Germans in a street round-up and sent to Germany for forced labor. After the liberation of Europe my parents and myself (3 years of age) moved to Australia in 1949. My father unfortunately died one day before his long awaited visit to his homeland, Poland in June, 1977.
Thank you for taking time to read my story.
