Josephine Romanowski, my great grandmother, and her brother emigrated from Poland in about 1891. We have US census records that give us this dates, but I cannot find any records that tell us where they lived in Poland. Josephine was born about 1882 and her brother was about 5 years older and we believe his name was Viktor. There may have also been a younger sister, Alice. The 1910 US Census says she was from Russia, but spoke Polish. The 1905 New York Census listed her to be from Germany.
