Stanislaw Konarzewski (he was our Grandfather)
Born: May 8, 1916 in Warsaw.
Only child, no siblings
He left Poland in late 1939, and ended up in Egypt, before going to UK.
He may have briefly joined the French Foreign Legion while in the middle-east but this is uncertain.
He made it to the UK by February 1941
Joined the Polish RAF 300 Squadron
Married Alice Gillett on June 28, 1941
SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR:
1) Mother and Father’s names
2) Where in Warsaw did he live? Addresses?
3) How did he get out of Poland? Ship? Train? etc.
4) Did he join the FFL?
5) How did he get to the UK?
We already have most of his UK/RAF/POW information. It is the pre-war life in Poland to UK journey time frame we are interested in.
Thank you.
