My great grandfather is listed on my great grandmothers Aniela (born circa 1890) death register as Kazimierz Mazurek. The register states she was a widow, she died in 1952 in Cowdenbeath, Fife, Scotland. Kazimierz and Aniela had 5 children Ewa, Adam, Franciszka, Leon and Paulin. From the story my grandfather Leon Mazurek (died 1999) told when I was younger the family were farmers and he mentioned Prussia. He said that he was on a train and ended up in Siberia where he joined the Polish Para-troop Brigade and was then sent to Scotland to train before making jumps including Arnhem. He met my grandmother Hilda Bayford, they married and after the war settled in Peterborough having 4 children. It is Kazimierz that I am trying to find more information on but without knowing where they were actually from in Poland or whether they all left for Siberia I have no idea now where for investigate further for information.
