Wladyslaw Sienkiewicz was my grandfather. He was born in Lomza, Poland on June 30, 1880/81 The family was in railroading. He road the train as a ticket taker on school holidays. There is a Sienkiewicz Street in Lomza. He always listed his parents as unknown on all his paperwork. I’ve been searching for more then 50 years with no luck. He married Michalena Frankiewicz also of Lomza, per his Naturalization Papers.
He died in in June of 1947. His operatic voice was trained in Germany. He also was trained to be a Tool and Diemaker in Germany. He emigrated to Albany, Albany, New York in 1910. He patented the first machine that mass produced single edge razor blades for International Razor of Bloomfield, Essex, New Jersey.
Being one of the younger grandchild, I didn’t get to ask a lot of questions before my grandmother passed. She never spoke English so communication was limited.
I would appreciate any information, no matter how small I plan on visiting Lomza. Hopefully, in 2020
