I would like to help as much as I can. I’m a licensed archivist and a person of wide interests (I’m have a major’s degree in philosophy). In my free time, I’m writing fiction, both in Polish and English.
My name is Andrés Bateman.I am from Colombia and my great granfather, called Kurt Grundman migrated to Colombia in the early 20th century and married my great grand mother in 1927. With the events before the war he went back to Europe and the track of him was lost. I have the marriege certificate and it says that he was born in Gdańsk (back then Danzig) and was babtized in Treiburg. His father was called Wilhelm Adolf Grundan and his mother was called Emma Augusta Louise Peters.
I would like to know what happened to him and his family.
Thank you very much in advance,
Hi I was hoping you may be able to help. I’m looking for information on Robert Battle who was born abt. 1826 Pressen, Germany. Robert married hannah born 1824 from Poland – surname unknown at this point though they had a son Albert Battle in 1851 whose mothers maiden name appears as Hoskin and later with another child Hoskey
Roberts son was Robert Battle, 1848 born Preußen, Berlin – British Subject, who went on to marry Alice Kirk.
Robert can be found in the 1851 census • Kingston Upon Hull Holy Trinity, Yorkshire, England
And 1881 • St Anne Soho, London, England.
Robert died in Lambeth 1906.
Robert and Hannah had a son Pole, later changed to Powell Battle in Prussia in 1849 and another son Porndia?? Transcription writing is quite bad to decipher, but also born Prussia.
Any help on information would be gratefully received. And any information on Robert Battle born abt 1846 in Prussia would be a bonus.
Any information about this Robert Battle, his wife Hannah, his parentage etc would be gratefully received.. Thanks Sarah
